This began as a poem in the early 2000's, and the lyrics have evolved some over the years. It took a long time to find the right melody for it, and it wasn't until 2013 that something finally felt right. This song moves from emptiness and need to fulfillment and security through beholding God.

Breathe, breathe on me
This my soul's incessant plea
Through dark and dismal daily spin
Thy grace reneweth me within
Thou Fountain flowing far and free
No pow'r nor will constraineth Thee
So who am I that I might taste
The quenching savor of thy grace
The quenching savor of thy grace

Breathe, breathe on me
This wild branch in desperate need
Is all consumed with deadly sin
I know Thy Son can graft me in
Thou Vine with reach to boundless deep
For Whom my barren soul doth weep
Thy roots supply the source of Him
Who disarmed death and put down sin
Who disarmed death and put down sin

Breathe, breathe on me
This broken vessel cries to Thee
Who once held only idols base
Revive, renew, restore by grace
Thou Potter, by Thy hands I pray
Remold this this wayward lump of clay
With living water, hands of pow'r
And breath of life this needy hour
And breath of life this needy hour

Nothing in my hands I bring
Thou mine all, I run to Thee

Breathe, breathe on me
To the solid rock I flee
Though waves and billows mock Thy plans
I'm hid with Christ and made to stand
Thou Harbor safe, Thou Refuge strong
What pow'r would dare contend for long
If sayest Thou, then it shall stand
I rest within Thy keeping hand
